I am a Zambian medical doctor on exchange working in Japan with a background in general surgery and a strong interest in plastic and reconstructive surgery. I enrolled in a plastic surgery training program under the regional scheme and have actively worked in the plastic surgery department in Zambia, where structured training in plastic surgery was introduced through the support of a Mie University graduate, in collaboration with the Japan and Zambia governments. During this time, I was involved in the care of patients with burn injuries, tumors, and reconstructive needs, including exposure to microsurgery, as well as outreach activities and clinical research, particularly in breast cancer, post-mastectomy care, and head and neck conditions.

At Mie University, I am currently working in the Department of Plastic Surgery as an Assistant Professor, where I also teach medical English while participating in clinical training and subspecialty education in plastic surgery. I have also had the opportunity to gain exposure to advanced microsurgery techniques, which has been a valuable part of my training experience. I am grateful for the opportunity to be involved in both education and clinical practice, which has contributed significantly to my professional development.

I value the collaborative environment in Japan and the cultural exchange between Japan and Zambia. I hope to apply the skills and knowledge I gain here to contribute to improving reconstructive surgical care and patient outcomes in Zambia.
